Wildrose Alliance Receives Update from Organizations that have received Government of Alberta Cutback Notice

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Edmonton, AB (December 16, 2009): Further to today's earlier announcement regarding agencies that support People with Developmental Disabilities, the Wildrose Alliance has now received a document co-signed by 15 additional organizations confirming that they have all received similar notices announcing arbitrary funding cuts.

In addition to confirming receipt of this funding cut notice, a number of the agencies have stated that the Minister of Seniors and Community Supports indicated that she was not aware of these specific cuts. All of these funding decisions are being made on a region-by-region basis, and a list of the Calgary and area organizations that have received this letter includes:

In addition, the Wildrose Alliance has been informed that organizations in Lac La Biche have also received a notification of contract cuts.
